THE ALDER RESIDENCE

The Alder Residence is a studio design project that I completed in the Fall of 2020, my junior year in the NDSU Interior Design program. The premise of this project was to design the entirety of a New York City Tribeca loft featuring a back-of-house maid's quarters all in high-end luxury fashion. I chose to design in the Art Deco style while incorporating ADA accessibility and universal design elements into the loft to ensure that the client could age in place as he experiences progressing MS symptoms while continuing to welcome guests into his home often to host events. I designed the floor plan and supporting construction documents, chose the cabinetry, furniture, fixtures and equipment, made all of the finish selections, and designed the custom furniture storage piece featured in the sewing room. The construction documents for this project were created in AutoCAD, and the final renderings were created in Sketchup, with assistance from Enscape to bring them to life.
